  Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships, HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong voice when and where needed.

  The Smoky Mountain Home Education Association (SMHEA) is a Christian led organization serving homeschooling families in eighteen East Tennessee counties including and surrounding Knoxville and Knox County.

Secondary Education

• ACT
  The ACT test assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The multiple-choice tests cover four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science. The Writing Test, which is optional, measures skill in planning and writing a short essay.
• ACT Explore
  The EXPLORE® program is designed to help eighth and ninth graders explore a broad range of options for their future. It prepares students not only for their high school coursework but for their post-high school choices as well.

  The PLAN® program helps 10th graders build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school districts' high-priority issues. It is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years.

• College Board (SAT Information)
  Information about SAT testing and registration for college entrance; College Board promotes excellence and equity in education through programs for K-12 and higher education institutions, and by providing students a path to college opportunities, including financial support and scholarships. We also serve the education community through research and advocacy on behalf of students, educators, schools and colleges.

• Tennessee Home Education Association (THEA)
  The Tennessee Home Education Association (THEA) was formed in 1984 to provide a statewide network of support, encouragement, and assistance to homeschooling families and for the purpose of preserving and defending the rights of parents to direct the education of their children.
